After some rounds of negotiation, Indonesia and the UAE signed “The Indonesia–United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IUAE–CEPA)” on 1 July 2022. With this CEPA, Indonesia and the UAE have entered a new era in economic relations. This CEPA governs many aspects, from trade, investment, intellectual property (IP) and digital trade to the Islamic economy.

This book will discuss some issues and background on the reasoning and motivation of Indonesia t0 negotiate and establish CEPA with the UAE. Issues such as tariff liberalization, negotiation round and ratification of the CEPA after signing of CEPA appeared as part of the early process.
